Duathlon

LI: I am sharing some of my ideas, feelings and thoughts on my blog about the Duathlon
 today!
  • Success Criteria:

    • It makes sense when I read it
    • I have used capital letters and full stops correctly
    • I have had my blogging buddy check my blog before I publish it

  • When we finish, we line our bikes up near the preschool from youngest to oldest
  • Year 6s ran 3,2,2 (3 laps of the field, 2 laps of the rezerve, 2 laps of the field)
  • Year 5s ran 2,2,2 (2 laps of the field, 2 laps of the rezerve, 2 laps of the field)
  • Year 4s ran 2,1,1 (2 laps of the field, 2 laps of the rezerve, 1 laps of the field)
  • Year 3s ran 1,1,1 (1 laps of the field, 1 laps of the rezerve, 1 laps of the field)
Before the duathlon instead of there being butterflies in my tummy, there were full grown dragons in my tummy. It didn't help that my bike tyre POPPED on the way to school. I was so annoyed because I would have come a placing but when I ran the whole duathlon somehow I came 6. I had to run about 2 whole kilometers and everyone else ran about 1 kilometer and biked 1 kilometer. I definitely bet my personal goal. It was such a great feeling when I finished the bike because I was coming about 12 but then I sprinted as hard as I could and passed SIX people. The duathlon went great for me because I was really gutted I was the only one running, but when I came 6th, omg I felt great. Sadly I didn't make the top 5 who went to interschools but between you and me, I'm not doing that all over again. I felt... Sick!

Gotcha Certificate

Our gotcha award is so old, our parents had them. Which is why we're making a new one. But not just one, every week were going to have a new gotcha award. If you don't know what a gotcha award is, i'll tell you. A gotcha award is when you receive 3 gotcha notes. You get gotcha notes by respectful,  responsible and/or resilient. Here's my gotcha certificate that I made.😀

Digital Dig

Last week, Miss Duckworth made us a task for us to do individually. The hardest part was on slide 6, when we had to write down all the shortcuts for the things she wrote down. Some of them were really easy but some were really confusing. When we finished that we had to do a poster about our top tip. As you can see my top tip was when you press and hold control, alt, slash.😏

Book Spine

Today for our learning we had to make a sentence out of book titles. What we did was we chose 4 or more books and tried to make a sentence out of them. Once we came up with our sentence we took a picture of the books stacked from top to bottom. Once we took a picture of our books and inserted it into google docs we wrote our sentence under the picture and then shared it to our teacher.(Miss Kingi) As you can see, I inserted the picture into Blogger so you can see it.💩

Minecraft Top Trumps

A few weeks ago Antonio and I made some top trumps. Of course, it's not proper top trumps with all the fancy stuff but it's pretty good for two 10 year old boys. What we did was we made 54  cards on google docs by using a 1 by 1 table grid. Then, we did some copy and pasting, some writing and voila! It took 2 weeks because we kept redoing it so it was perfect, plus we had to measure it so they were all the same size. Once we printed them out we laminated them so they didn't rip and now we play them every wet morning tea and lunch 😆.

Dog Man - Reading Wheel

This week (and last week) we have been making reading wheels. We had to use our math skills of rotation to find out that 360 (1 full rotation) divided by 6 is 6 portions of 60 degrees each. Then we had to use a protractor to measure exactly 6 60 degree portions onto our reading wheel. I've been reading Dog Man by Dav Pilkey. On sector 1, 3, and 5 we used illustrations about our book. On sector 2, 4, and 6 we wrote about our book. After all of that we had to make a cover for our reading wheel. Did you now that half of 360 degrees = 180 degrees, half of 180 degrees is 90 degrees, and half of 90 degrees is 45 degrees. If you don't understand the picture at the bottom then I'll tell you now.

Radius: The radius is a straight line coming from one side of the circle to the centre of the circle.
Diameter: The diameter is 2 radies, or any straight line coming through the centre of the circle and touches both sides.

Cycle Safety Cartoon

Hi I made a Cycle Safety cartoon to show everyone what to do when cycling. So here it is.😉
